Those of you that know me know that I have become a wine lover. For most of my life I hated wine of all types. Eventually I was introduced to Moscato and I was willing to drink it. Moscato is a VERY sweet wine that is best as an aperitif or for dessert. But then I went on a cruise with my family and a very cool uncle of mine paid for all of us to attend a wine tasting that was being held on-board.
We learned all about the different types of wines, and how they taste different when paired with different foods. Just the presence of a acidic fruit, a fatty cheese, or a yeast filled bread will change the taste and texture of the very wine you are sipping. I was enthralled with all that I learned and thus began a desire to learn and taste more about wines.
8 months later, I have read some of the best books, tasted some cheap wine, and some very expensive wine. I have tasted many different types of cheeses, and even made purchases for sole purpose of tasting and pairing foods and wines.
I just thought I would post a picture of the moment that changed my idea of food and wine.
